2015: What Are You Planning?

Wow, what an amazing year we have had. Now that 2014 has come to a close and we have said our goodbyes, I want to not only celebrate the ending of a year, but the beginning of a new one. Many things have happened throughout this year, wonderful lessons were learned and I began to see the world in a new way. Of course, the blog came into play along with my YouTube channel and I have finally come to a realization. To sum it up in the best way possible I would invite you to read this quote which I have recently come to swear by:
If you can't be happy where you are, with what you have, you never will.
I find this quote has so many different meanings and layers of feelings that ultimately lead to one universal truth. The only way to truly be happy is to accept everything you are and love yourself. The world can be everything you want it to be as long as you make it so. And with that I will launch into the post.

On New Years Eve many people set goals or resolutions to help them achieve and pursue new things and better their new lives in the new year. While I believe that you can be the own change in your life and a new year doesn't represent the only time for change, setting goals can be a healthy way of growing as a person and if a new year is what you need, then I hope you start off your clean slate with happiness. Below are a three ideas that will help you have the best year possible, I hope you enjoy.

#1 Treat Yourself with Respect

Every year the most common goal I have found that people set are: to get fit, to lose weight, and to eat healthier. For me, I have found that diets or strict workout schedules often do not provide the results I hope for and leave me feeling like a failure. I think many other people may experience that same feeling as well. So, instead of focusing on weight or muscle mass I often prefer to think of it like this. If you treat your body with respect your body will reciprocate. By eating healthy foods and being active your body will receive it's energy that it needs to replenish itself and you will feel absolutely wonderful. So, instead of reaching for the sweets, try eating a banana or some grapes. If that is too much of a transition for you, eat a piece of a chocolate instead of your usual bar of chocolate. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. Little changes like these will add up to big changes in how your body performs. Remember, everyone is different, what works for someone else may not work for you so really try and identify what you and your body need to be happy and healthy.

#2 A Healthy Mind is the Best Medicine

As I mentioned in the introduction of this post the way you see life directly affects how you perform your daily tasks. My best advice for those of you who are struggling with happiness or just having a bad day is to think positively. Positivity can often be seen as annoying or unrealistic but the truth is that if you think negative thoughts you will have negative experiences. Learning to enjoy the little things and maintaining a constructive attitude can sometimes seem impossible but ultimately; you are the creator of your own happiness and the way you think will dramatically affect your life. So, when you are feeling down do something you enjoy. I like to paint my nails or clean my room (I always feel a bit better when things look organized). You may try going on a walk or visiting with friends. Keeping a diary is another way to write down what you are feeling so you don't feel like you are going to boil over. Also, a good cry will leave you feeling better afterwards. Never hold one in. Ultimately I'd like you to remember that nothing lasts forever and tomorrow is always a new day. Be yourself and stay positive, you'd be surprised what can happen with a healthy attitude.

#3  Experience Life in it's Fullest

Whether you stay in bed all day or can never find time to do the things you want it's about time to take a stand. Experiencing the world is a big part of life and without a little adventure life can seem to be a bit mundane and repetitive. The best way to get out and enjoy new things is to travel. Whether it's just a day road trip or a ticket around the world getting out of the house is always a great way to try new things. It doesn't have to be expensive either. A tank of gas and some snacks and you are ready to go. Ask some friends to join you or take a day away to really focus on yourself. Live for today, do more of what you want, see things you want to see, and you'll find your life to be a much improved one.

With all of that said and done I hope you have a lovely New Year and we can't wait for y'all to see our upcoming posts. Together we can make 2015 the best year of our lives!

Winter Morning Routine

Hello everybody,
It's December, and guess what that means...CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
To celebrate the coming of Christmas, we will be showing you one of our winter morning routines. Hope you enjoy:

Emma's morning usually starts out with her in a deep sleep and snuggled up with her pillow pet.

Eventually, after a long struggle, she manages to sit up in her bed and open her eyes.

And then makes a disturbing face for the camera,

She proceeds to go to the bathroom, where she brushes her teeth until they are shiny and clean.

If Emma has enough time, she loves to take a nice, relaxing bath with any bath bomb she has on hand.

After the bath, Emma starts her daily make-up routine.

Beginning with Clinique's extremely moisturizing lotion

Then starting her base make-up, Emma dabs on some concealer on her blemishes and under the eyes.

Setting it with Revlon's Nearly Naked powder.

Today, she felt like putting on some eye shadow, instead of just her usual mascara.

After applying eye shadow from her Benefit's pallet. Emma puts on mascara. She uses the clump crusher from Cover Girl.

One thing that Emma loves to do everyday is apply a little blush to add some color and a nice flush to her face.

During the fall, Emma likes to have a bold lip color to make it seem like she spent a lot of time on her make-up.

This one is Milani's Black Cherry

After she is done with all her make-up, it's time to get dressed!
An easy way to be comfy and stylish at the same time is to put on patterned leggings and throw on a cozy over sized sweater.

An easy hairstyle to do, is a messy half-up, half-down french braid

Now it is time for breakfast! Emma usually has cereal or a bagel in the morning, but since she had none of those, she resorted to a delicious peach flavored yogurt.

Then she is out the door to start her day

Push that button Emma!

Drive carefully my friends

Now all that is left is to turn on the radio and jam out!

We hope you liked our morning routine, please comment below for more. Maybe there will be a winter night routine in the near future. Goodbye for now!

Fall/Winter HAUL

HELLO EVERYBODY!
Sorry we've been away for a while, our weekends have just been a bit busy lately. As you will soon be well aware of, one of our authors, Maya O, has started her own YouTube channel and has been uploading to it weekly. Feel free to check out her videos below. Also, homework has been piling up. As it was the end of the grading term every day it was test after test. But don't worry! The hard times are over and we are back for good!

As our celebratory welcome back post, we decided a fall haul was necessary. We will show you some of our favorite buys from the last couple weeks. Anyways lets get started!

Below is a super cozy maroon sweater (which is actually an XL), Emma got this from Nordstrom Rack for about $25. And let me say, they're sales are amazing! Everything was about half of the price than the original. Not only does this sweater have a super cute cable knit pattern- but it's also warm and fuzzy! Talk about a great buy. There were also a selection of different colors to choose from so if maroon isn't your thing- there are always other options. Perfect for those bonfire nights and the upcoming winter weather.

Here we have a pair of ADORABLE brown combat fold-over boots. They also have a fuzzy knit patterned lining, perfect for winter and keeping those toes all warm and toasty. Emma got these lovely boots at Target for only $30! Target currently has a sale for boots if you're looking for a good deal. These are extremely versatile and work great with any outfit. Emma is really looking forward to wear this multiple times this season. (especially with her new fuzzy socks!!! <3) Can I just say that, if you don't already have fuzzy socks, you are missing out. Buy some.

Next, we have a fall essential. Although these are not ideal colors for fall, you can't be picky with hand-me-downs. This purple and blue flannel from Arizona T-shirt company was given to Maya by a co-worker, and is seriously a life saver. Throw it on over anything and there is an instant pop of color. Dress down a black dress by tying this around the waist, or throw it over a t-shirt if you are going out and it makes you look a little more done-up. Adding texture and pattern helps draw the eye meanwhile you are comfy and stylish. It also helps to re-model old summer dresses by making them more fall appropriate.

Guy, guys, guys!! Look at what this is! FREE PEOPLE! This right here is a Free People blouse for half the price. Selling at about $30, as opposed to $60 (Mind blown). Emma was squealing with joy when she found an entire section at Nordstrom Rack. There are plenty of unique pieces that would be great for the season. This shirt is really cute with the lace details on the collar and back. The buttons on the front also bring a rustic feel to the shirt that Free People is known for. Also, Emma loves the not too bright, off-white color. This blouse will be great for fall, paired with a dark cardigan.

Next is this luxurious sweater dress. It's short A-line style is flattering and the fabric is very thick and warm. Not only does it mimic a sweater's style, but also has a snug feel. Both soft and comfortable it's thick material is absolutely perfect for the colder weather. The brand is Max Studio but again, it was purchased at Nordstrom rack for around $25. Add tights and thigh high socks with a beany and you're ready for a night on the town. Or wear it simply as is and you've got the perfect outfit for a day out or brunch with your best friend ;)

Next we have an entire outfit! Maya is wearing her new black dress (free) that she thrifted from a friend. It is soft cotton and although it's summery adding a crop top and a jean jacket over it helped warm it up. Also, her new burgundy tights from Target ($7) add the perfect pop of color and go along with her new boots from Forever 21 ($40). Although the boots were quite an investment, for a teenager's budget anyway, I think they will make the perfect accessory to a large range of fall and winter outfits.

In addition, her gold accessories, also from Forever 21 add a great flare to the outfit making it more dressy and pulled together.

HAY IT'S OUR FEET IN A CLASSY SHOE PICTURE, GO FIGURE #TUMBLR

These boots from Famous Footwear have a great red detailed zipper that Maya couldn't resist. The studded design up the back of the boot also adds the perfect casual feel that you normally don't receive from dressed up riding boots.

Well that is all for this post, sadly. Thank you so much for reading and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Please go check out Maya's YouTube channel, or you'd be missing out. And comment below what you would like for us to do in the future! Goodbye for now :)

Fall Makeup Tutorial

HI THERE! Soooo today we are doing a fall makeup tutorial, WOOO! You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do one. Too long... So now, I present to you, our FALL MAKEUP TUTORIAL :D

This is just a bundle of the products we will be using in the tutorial.

The ELF eyeshadow palette. What I love about this product, is that there are so many different colors and shades that you can use it year round.

Here is another eyeshadow palette that we will be using. I love the neutral tones in this product and it is great for daily use.

To start off the tutorial, apply any base makeup of your choice. I prefer to use concealer to cover up any acne and then some pressed powder.

Beginning with the eyes, We applied apply a base color called Birthday Suit from the Benefit neutral palette. This is a great base shade for fall, but is great for year round use.

Next, apply a gold tone eye shadow to your lid starting from the inner corner and blending out. The gold brings a gorgeous glow to the look that I absolutely love!

After that, add a dark brown to the crease and outer corner of your eyes. This creates a great, but subtle smoky eye for the fall.

Now all you have to do is apply mascara and line those beautiful eyes with some liquid eyeliner. I love doing a dramatic winged eyeliner during Autumn.
Now you are done with the eyes!

For the lips, we applied a maroon lip color and blended in a brown lipstick as well, to create a stunning medium dark lip color. This is a great look if you don't want to be too daring with the dark lipstick just yet.

AND THE FINISHED PRODUCT! YAYYY! haha. Excuse my enthusiasm :)

We hope you enjoyed this little fall tutorial! Please let us know in the comments what you would like to see next on our blog. Thank you so much for reading, see you next time! <3
